Recovery Plan for Middle Columbia River Steelhead Distinct Population Segment

The goal of ESA recovery under this plan is to improve the viability of these steelhead, and the ecosystems upon which they depend, to the point that they no longer require ESA protection.
This is a recovery plan for the protection and restoration of Middle Columbia River steelhead (Oncorhynchus mykiss), which spawn and rear in tributaries to the Columbia River in central and eastern Washington and Oregon. The Middle Columbia River steelhead distinct population segment was listed as threatened under the Endangered Species Act of 1973 on January 5, 2006 (71 FR 834).
